The rising sun is about to crack over morning clouds on the eastern horizon at 6:16 a.m. on May 6, 2019, as Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 steams westward at East Granger, Wyoming. Exhaust condenses in the low temperatures on this beautiful morning making for an unforgettable sight. UP No. 4014, accompanied by Northern No. 844, are on a trip west to Ogden, Utah, for the 150th anniversary celebration of the completion of the transcontinental railroad and Golden Spike.

With its glossy paint reflecting the early morning sunrise, Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 and Northern No. 844 lead a westbound passenger special into Granger, Wyoming, at 6:22 a.m. on May 6, 2019. Steam exhaust condenses in the cold temperature on this beautiful morning making for a memorable sight. The train is headed to Ogden, Utah, and a special celebration for the 150th anniversary of the driving of the golden spike.
