Foggy on Grass Island

The Grass Island Shack was built at the turn of the 20th century as a summer cottage. It burned down and was rebuilt in the 1930's and was renovated again in the 2020's as John Markowski's Eagle Scout Project.
The town moved it a little inland to higher ground in 2024.

Show-Off

One gull was determined to keep me off the dock, seemingly levitating in the center of the walk.

Moon beams on the Shack

Built at the turn of the century as a summer cottage, the Grass Island shack burned down and was rebuilt in the 1930s. When the tide threatened to encroach in the 1950s, the house was moved to higher ground. Finally, in 1963, the owners of the house, the Monroe family, gave the shack and its half-mile of land, called Grass Island, to the town.
