Rudolfinum
statue of Antonín Dvořák
Prague
architects Josef Zítek (design for the National Theatre just down the embankment in Prague (after a fire in 1881 the project was taken over by Josef Schulz)) and Josef Schulz (National Museum),
The building was built between 1876 and 1881 and the grand opening took place on 7 February 1885 as a multi-purpose cultural facility with a concert hall and exhibition halls. The Rudolfinum was built on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its founding by Česká spořitelna (bank), which asked the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, Archduke Rudolf, to name the building after him (and his Habsburg relative, the Prague resident Emperor Rudolf). The newly built embankment (today Aleš Embankment) and the adjacent Rudolf Footbridge bore his name.
In 1896, Antonín Dvořák conducted the first concert of the Czech Philharmonic, Prague's most important classical orchestra, in its largest, the Dvořák Hall.
THe Czechoslovak Chamber of Deputies met here from 1919 to 1939. Here, in 1920 and 1927, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk was elected President of the Czechoslovak Republic.

Orlík Cavalry Barracks – now District Court
Enormous Austrian barracks from the town's days as an Imperial fortress. It was built in the Classicist style in 1786–1787 during the reign of Emperor Joseph II as one of the examples of Enlightenment military rationalism. The ground floor with barrel vaults was used for stabling horses, as a reminder of this is several preserved stone watering holes in semicircular niches. The articulated façade has profiled cornices, a plinth and two entrances to the building are lined with stone blocks. Given cultural monument protection by the Czechoslovak state sometime before 1988
