All of our memories are photographs of houses built in 1921. by Tim Kiser

All of our memories are photographs of houses built in 1921.

Our memories of this picture of this "American foursquare"-style house from 1921 are dominated by its non-1921 elements: the large metal awnings and the enclosed porch that were later added to its first and second floors, respectively.

These memories are fascinations.

Since 2016 I have lived in the upstairs of this duplex in beige siding. The dormer has a vent instead of a window. by Tim Kiser

Since 2016 I have lived in the upstairs of this duplex in beige siding. The dormer has a vent instead of a window.

I remember my ex singing along to "I Took a Pill in Ibiza" as we carried belongings upstairs. For awhile in 2016 it seemed like I heard that song everyplace I went.

The house was built in 1923. The original residents probably whistled along to "Dipper Mouth Blues" as they carried their belongings in.

Thanks to iphones and airpods I can stand out here and gawk at the house while I listen to "Dardanella" by the Ben Selvin orchestra on youtube and think about the year 1919.
