Ferrocarril Directo Madrid-Burgos (1968).

Madrid-Burgos Direct Railway (1968).
Since the unjust closure of the line in 2011, thieves have been stealing and vandalizing the various safety and signaling systems along the line, further complicating its reopening.
Let's hope that common sense returns and this railway artery is reopened before it's too late...

The TER number 1
______________
The TER (Rapid Spanish Train) was a milestone of modernity in the 60s and 70s of the 20th century. The first unit of the series (597 001) was in service between 1964 and 1988.
After its withdrawal, Renfe decided to preserve it as a piece of interest for the National Railway Museum, although it was never exhibited. Things that no one understands...
In 1996, the Bilbilitana Association of Friends of the Railway requested its transfer to use it as headquarters and the now historic train was transferred to Calatayud, remaining located on an auxiliary track of the station's old goods yard. The Association restored the veteran unit in the best possible way and in 1999 it came to have an impeccable appearance. As the years went by, the association ceased to be active and acts of vandalism began to cause damage to the train. It was in 2012 when the Association renounced custody of the Historic unit due to lack of means and that was when the Calatayud City Council offered to take charge of the rehabilitation of the TER. Thus, on April 1, 2015, the Spanish Railways Foundation and the City Council signed a contract for the transfer of temporary use and storage.
Nowadays, luckily, the train is in very good condition, displayed in a park next to the station.
Quite a story...

The foxes are running for the fences in a search of way out! Will they escape the shot and the dog?
Maybe it will remind you of "The Fox and the Hound", but the idea is not connected, it was inspired by a different thing (two, in fact), and has a different meaning (as well as a reason why I waited for the right time to post it).
Oof, the shadow was a real challenge here! :) It was hard to find the only angle in which the horse, the hunter, the rifle and the dog will be both sharp and recognizable.

My team is losing, battered and bruising
I see the high fives between the bad guys
Probably my opinion as a foreigner doesn't matter, but this week I saw a wave of deep shock, fear, sadness and anger among people (not just Americans!) that I follow on other websites. Even if I wouldn't share some of these emotions, it's really hard to stay on the sidelines, when you see thousands of people sharing crisis hotlines numbers, self-defense advice (courses, videos, concealed carry weapons) and some medical lists and advice as well, while others celebrate on your TV and throw menacing remarks...
So I thought I should take a picture to support those who need it, but I really don't know what to say. :( Things got too serious this time, too much is at the stake, and the price of the fail is too high...
For me the results weren't shocking, but only because I believe that humanity sucks in general, and there are nothing more appealing for a lot of people than the promise of their hate being fulfilled. Bad people never miss a chance to act on their hate (they feel so much empowered doing so!), so of course, they showed up in numbers. History knows some other tragic examples as well.
I guess the lesson is: never underestimate the power of hate.
Stay safe, everyone.
