Lena Furberg is considered the world's greatest horse illustrator by me and everyone else! :D She draws comics for the Swedish horse mag "Min häst", to which I subscribed as a kid. My fave Lena comics tended to be sad ones. And many that weren't exactly sad were still hella moving. D'x If I have to pick 1 story, it might be "Pärla" from 1984. :'''''''''C IT WAS SAD. HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Most of the mag's other comic artists were shit compared to Lena. o_O
I would keep buying "Min häst" because of her comics, but every time I remember to check for it at the shop these days it seems the mag is wrapped in plastic and the front says "100 PAGES!!! COMICS!!! YOU GET A PLASTIC GOLD HORSY BRACELET!!! COMICS!!! COMICS!!!"
I JUST NEED TO KNOW IF THERE ARE NEW LENA COMICS IN THERE, DAMN YOU!
Well. I don't have a lot of time for colouring, but I'll eventually fill up the 3 Lena books* I've bought so far. Unless I get run over by a bus.
Colouring is pointless, but satisfying. Well, maybe it improves hand-eye coordination, which I need at work. :p
Anyway. Next time Lena does an autograph session at the local horse convention I'm gonna try to meet her! :D I spotted her at her booth many years ago, but didn't dare to walk up... She has replied to me on Insta a few times though! *diez* And... she once Liked an Insta post of mine! Not a photo by me, but this pic of me in a band shirt - presumably she likes Gianna. :D She also Insta-follows my ex-classmate and my ex-coworker! :O Both of whom are accomplished af.
Examples of Lena fans with MAD COLOURING SKILLZ here and here. :O
* Not technically books but folders of loose pages, which is of course better than the book format. :)
