The iconic Wild tulips (Tulipa sylvestris - Bostulp) on the Martema estate in Koarnjum (Friesland), blooming massively in the month of April. Altough once imported from south-eastern Europe, as an ornamental on older estates in central and northwestern Europe, I like their modest appearance more than the pompous cultivated tulips on the poisoned (Dutch) bulb fields. © Tom Kisjes
