The current price of a first-class stamp in the UK is £1.65 but it's going up to £1.70 in April. I bought a quantity of unused first-class commemorative stamps at a discount from a philatelic dealer a while ago but have used quite a few so I thought I'd get some more.

Going and finding this shop was an adventure and I had to depend on Google street view to get it. However, once inside it is SO jam packed with boxes that I really could not have a look at anything but for the small space I was standing (maybe only 5% total stock). Luckily the cat box was right there. I was however, not so much interested by Olympics, football, centenaries etc. There was also Pokemon, but there was only 1 stamp in there and badly postmarked.
Another way to look at it...if your mommy used these stamps when you were a kid, you probably should rule out any plans for running for president next time.
