Dunnet Head, Scotland

The lighthouse and fog horn at Dunnet Head, the most northernly point on the Scottish mainland. Built in 1831 by Robert Stevenson, it is another lighthouse by the famous Stevenson lighthouse builders, who built almost 100 of the Scottish lighthouses. This was the site of WWII RADAR stations used to track U-boats and aircraft attempting to pass through Pentland Firth. Orkney is on the horizon.

Conwy Railway Arch

The arch over the railway at Conwy Station is an exceptional effort to mitigate the damage done in the construction of the Chester and Holyhead Railway through the walled town in the 1840s. Renowned engineer Robert Stephenson oversaw the project in 1848 and the Gothic, castellated archway emulates the walls’ parapet as well as managing to continue the line of the wall footway. It sits just to the west of Stephensons famous Conwy Railway Bridge.

Corry Ouellette and her 'Sonny Balcones'.

'Sonny Balcones' were on the menu at St. Barnabas Church. I've seen them N-times; I guess, I like them. Corry sings in French and English and has several professions; one of them is making costumes for theatres. On the photo is also Bill Bob Stevenson. I have never seen Robert Stevenson with any other band. He is now about 70 and studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) and the University of Western Ontario. He is also a composer and plays regular clarinet and also quite often a strange long bass-clarinet.
'Sonny Balcones' on this day with Bob Stevenson; Conny Nowe -drums, Rachel Melas - bass, Jared Higgins-guitar and the leader, vocalist and occasional trumpet player -Corry Ouellette.
