John le Carré

Another series I enjoyed are the John le Carré books Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Smiley's People, adapted for television in 1979 and 1982 with the inimitable Sir Alec Guinness as George Smiley. Superb shows. There is also a small but striking performance by Sir Patrick Stewart, long before he became Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek.

Day 116 - These are not the cookies you're looking for

Today I dressed up as Obi-Shaun Kenobi because today would be the birthday of Sir Alec Guinness. He was a kind old man with nice white hair.

He was in „Star Wars“ and in one of my uncles all time favorite movies, „The Bridge on the River Kwai“. He also was in „The Ladykillers“ where he looked very creepy but was very funny.

I have to go now and make Lightsaber noises :-)
