A lunar eclipse, softened by a layer of clouds, looks newborn.

The default setting for the program I used here is 50 triangles for 500 generations. I changed the setting to 100 triangles and found that I was actually disappointed in how accurate the image became after 500 generations. It wasn't abstracted enough for what I wanted. But 100 triangles after only 87 generations struck me as good. The original/target image is a photo I took of a recent commission. I do all sorts of commissions - if interested check out www.unicoherent.com
The neoclassical Jefferson Memorial is situated on the shore of the Tidal Basin off the Potomac River. Its design references the Roman Pantheon and Jefferson's own design for the Rotunda at the University of Virginia. In 2007, it was ranked fourth on the "List of America's Favorite Architecture" by the American Institute of Architects.
A chilly visit to Devils Tower National Monument this past March (3-4-2022) netted images of mystical fog toying with the rocky heights, an ebb and flow wholely dependent upon the occasional puff of breeze in the near-freezing temperatures. Black and white seemed another appropriate approach to presenting this magical place.
Erosion has revealed the rock not far beneath the surface of the crest of this hill that bisects a meadow on the northwest side of Devils Tower. I spent several hours at the National Monument as it peeked in and out of the fog and clouds, hiking around the base and the surrounding meadows. Devils Tower is well worth the visit any time of year in any weather but I particularly enjoy the quiet off-season visits, for that is when it is most peaceful. (3-4-2022)
