Lincel is a village close to Saint Michel L'Observatoire which, together with Saint Michel, form the commune Saint Michel L'Observatoire - Lincel.
This photograph is of the church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine in Lincel; it was taken at sunset on the shortest day of the year - the winter solstice.
The church was built during the 13th and 14th centuries, although there is a written reference of a church being here in 1115. It is now listed as a historic monument of France.

This panorama of the winter sun lighting up a piece of a field (center frame) is something that can only be seen shortly before and shortly after the winter solstice.
It occurs when the sun rises between a gap in the hills around Saint Michel L'Observatoire - the rest of the time the field misses out on catching the rising sun.
I forget the actual name, but this one’s a hydramatic so who cares.
Ripples form in the beach sand at low tide under the lights of Sanlucar de Barrameda, creating a tranquil coastal landscape.
