Star Chickweed (a.k.a.Great Chickweed, Giant Chickweed; Stellaria pubera) - BIA¹ route 443, ½ mile northeast of Bunches Creek Road, Cherokee, North Carolina (35.533090, -83.203961)
My first impression was this was a member of the Asteraceae family. But no, it doesn't have a compound blossom, and turned out to be a large chickweed!
And yet another of the not so pink, Pinks.
This guy is also quite interesting in that it has 5 split petals, where the splits are so deep it looks like 10 petals, and can easily be confused with some of the "Many Petal" flowers of the Asteraceae family, Though, in the case of the Asteraceae family, petal counts for a specific species tend to be variable (even on the same plant).
