From my first time seeing giraffes lying down.

There are 9 giraffe subspecies, and this is the Masai giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi). It is native to East Africa, and is the largest and darkest of the subspecies. Their spots are jagged and irregular.

A male baglafecht weaver (Ploceus baglafecht) in Kenya. I think it looks like a cute masked bandit. The female has an all black head.
We met them several places- both in towns, by the mountain roads and in lush areas of the savanna.
They are found in eastern and central Africa.
