Pachydactylus kladaroderma - Thin skinned Gecko. From Fraserburg, Northern Cape. www.tyroneping.co.za/geckos/pachydactylus-kladaroderma-th...
The famed poet, Li-Young Lee, wrote in his poem titled, "Persimmons":
How to choose
persimmons. This is precision.
The full poem can be found in his book, Rose, and at the Poetry Foundation here:

Special thanks to my wife for the precision, persimmon stitching!
- this citrus tree
- probably 50 yrs old
- was part of a grove many years ago
- most homes on my street have citrus trees
- some new one have been added..replacing those that die
- but, this oldtimer still yields thin skinned oranges
- juicy & heavenly tasting
- even though she is worn by the elements around her
- there is a good size crop of small green orbs
- oranges to be
- this Tree Has Good Bones !
..cropped for size

This YouTube video is a jam session of The Revelator Band; not a profession vid, but the music is something that feels right ! Oh, the musician in the brown shirt is really coaxing some cool rhythms from that Turkish dumbek !
Check out the'tree drummer' !

i almost used the word "delicate," but that i am not.
i've never taken criticism well. maybe with a certain air of stoicism, but negative comments tend to worm their way into my brain and stay there for a long time. my parents joke that i'll never be a politician. very true
my saving grace is that i'm also stubborn. if i have something set in my mind, nothing will sway me. it's normally an undesirable trait, but i quite like it.
it's raining today. not just a little. i walked home from the bio building and got soaked. My jeans, shoes, sweatshirt, t shirt, hair... everything is soaked. And it's cold. I taunted Lianna this morning for wanting waterproof pants. Now, i think i'll take the fashion embarrassment to just be warm during class. we're sending in our bills today so they get everywhere on time. WELL there goes my bank account.
