Pont-à-Mousson (FR), maart 2025

Het plein heeft een driehoekige vorm en is het grootste complex van renaissancegalerijen in Lotharingen.

Het plein eert maarschalk Michel Duroc, een inwoner van de stad en oud-leerling van de Koninklijke Militaire School van Pont-à-Mousson.

Er zijn veel architectonische gebouwen te vinden uit de 16e tot en met de 20e eeuw. Het vierkant had waarschijnlijk een primitieve rechthoekige vorm.

In de 19e eeuw stond er een muziektent, maar die werd tijdens de bombardementen in de Eerste Wereldoorlog verwoest. Na dit conflict, of misschien wel tijdens een eerder conflict, werd het plein aangepast en verloor het een van zijn zijden, waardoor het een driehoekig vierkant werd.

In 1931 werd in het midden een fontein gebouwd ter nagedachtenis aan de inzet van Amerikaanse vrijwillige ambulancemedewerkers in Oost-Frankrijk, van 1915 tot 1917.

History

It contains numerous architectural buildings dating from the 16th to the 20th century. The square probably originally had a rectangular shape.

In the 19th century, it housed a bandstand, which was destroyed during the bombings of the Great War. At the end of this conflict, or perhaps during a previous one, the square was modified and lost one of its sides, becoming a triangular square.

A fountain was built in the center in 1931 and commemorates the dedication of American volunteer ambulance drivers in Eastern France from 1915 to 1917.

Kerk van Onze Lieve Vrouw van Kernascléden.

De Notre Dame-kerk is een katholieke kerk gelegen in Kernascléden in Frankrijk . De kerk is geklasseerd als historisch monument bij besluit van 3 april 1857.
De kerk heeft de bijnaam "de kapel van de duizend torens" vanwege de gevel versierd met gebeitelde sculpturen, steunberen , pinakels en torens .

Rijksmonument nr. 16858

WAAG. Statig GEBOUW in klassicistische barok (Pieter Post, 1668). Bakstenen gevels met rijk beeldhouwwerk van Barth.Eggers (frontons, reliëf boven de ingang, wapens en festoenen). Vensters met kruiskozijnen. Omlopend schilddak. Gebogen luifels tegen de zijgevels.

De Goudse Waag is een historisch pand uit 1668. Ontworpen door de bekende Pieter Post. Onder anderen ook bekend van De Waag in Leiden, Huis ten Bosch en het Stadhuis van Maastricht. Gouda was een belangrijke stop tussen Amsterdam en Rotterdam. In De Goudse Waag werden alle goederen die meer wogen dan 10 pond, gewogen en daar moest dan de belasting over betaald worden.
