Vintage May 1954 issue of men’s girlie cheesecake pin-up magazine, Peep Show. Unlike pseudo-intellectual nudie magazines like Playboy, magazines such as this one claimed no such illusion. This is actually the back of the card which has some nice mid-century silhouette graphics. While these cards claimed to be produced for artists and photographers inspiration, they were basically nudie decks. Vintage 1940s Weird Illustrated Ladies Room Gag Post Card with the main focus of the gag being the woman’s need to use the rest room. I can’t imagine sending this post card to anyone for any reason. Definitely weird and not funny. The only thing they got right was a depicting a nice looking woman. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!
Vintage 1950s issue (no date) of Pulsating Beauty - a pseudo Art and Photography Magazine. Magazines such as this one claimed to be published for artistic purposes to avoid censorship issues. Issue is devoted to several models in various stage of dress and undress. In reality these were basically just girlie, cheesecake, pin-up and nudie rags. I was an art student in the 1960s and have seen more than my share of these publications. Popular in their time - just not by artists, sculptors and photographers. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!
Vintage Pin-Up Models Cigarette Slide Viewer Cover. Designed to look like a pack of cigarettes the device could be used to view risqué or nude 2”x2” slides. The item even has the simulated blue cigarette tax seal which is usually long gone. Great 1950s pin-up graphics and peripheral tobacciana. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!

The headlights are 50 to 65% brighter, (than what?), the thrilling feeling of the "Floating Engine" which is "finished in "vital parts" for money-saving and long-life smoothness. (?) Don't forget about those "Super-finished" brakes and that every Plymouth comes with an oil filter! Oh BOY! It just doesn't get any better.😃
Vintage July 1954 issue of Astounding Science Fiction Magazine with a Gay Interest Beefcake Physique Cover. Interestingly enough the cover image has nothing to do with anything inside the magazine. Cover “bait” at its finest as it appears the publisher was trying to lure in readers of beefcake physique magazines. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!
Vintage March 1967 issue of Men’s Digest Magazine with actress Elle Sommer on the cover. Combination men’s interest and pin-up magazine, and not your typical nudie, but sleazy none-the-less. Cover stories, like this one with Elke Sommer, would always “bait” someone to purchase the magazine, the story itself would always fail to deliver. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!
Vintage June 1962 issue of men’s adventure magazine, Peril - the All Man Magazine. As an art student in the 1960s I was always fascinated with the cover graphics of these magazines and how the antagonists were always depicted as less than human. While these publications are widely known as Men’s Adventure Magazines, the magazine publishing industry referred to them as “Sweats”. Unfortunately later in 1970s the covers became a mix of photos and illustrations, in addition to the stories turning more to the sleazy side of life. Looking back at it now, the covers were the best part of the magazine, as the pages within always failed to deliver. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!

Vintage January 7, 1937 weekly publication produced by A&P Supermarkets, Queer Foods. Contains menus and recipes for what then would be considered unusual foods. While the main intent of the publication was to broaden our gastric horizons, it appears that the title of the magazine did not age well. it’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!
