Gebäude der Volkshochschule im Höpen - Fotos aus Hohenwestedt, Ortsteil der gleichnamigen Gemeinde im Kreis Rendsburg-Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein. © www.christoph-bellin.de Vermutlich wurde das Gebiet von Hohenwestedt schon 3000 v. u. Z. von Bauern besiedelt. Urkundlich wurde Hohenwestedt als Wetsstede 1217 erwähnt. In der Gemeinde Hohenwestedt leben auf einer Fläche von 18,2 km² ca. 5 400 Menschen.
