VIKINGS
or, The Saga of LoftyTangles and GrumbleShortarse - The Two Bold Adventurers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Viking
-Steve D'Beard-
stand fast
raise your warrior arm
in splendour and dissent
carve the path
besieged on all sides;
the penance of deviance
awaits with open arms
embrace the battle cry
let it ring in the ears
of your foes and their kin
fulfill the oathes
uphold all that is good
in a world of devilment
that crawls beneath the skin
You are a Viking
in this life and the next
do not falter
your name depends on it;
resolution and absolution
await only the brave
the Viking exists in you
do not ignore your dreams
until your grave
your last breath
will be the final kiss
upon this world;
make it count.
Remember the Ganoderma applanatum (artist conk) I discovered right behind my son's house? Well, hubby asked me this morning if I wanted to fetch it, this time bringing along the tools, the saw, and ax. At first, I wasn't sure why he was extracting the conk with part of the tree and bark: now I see why.
Isn't it perfect? It comes with a natural easel. Love it! I know just what to paint on it only, I need to cure it first. Thanks, Stan♥️
So far, I've acquired a nice collection of canvases from nature. Weird, wild, and best of all - Free!
Wimsey's a stellar bloodhound we had the pleasure of meeting in Central Park.
He's quite the cosmopolitan pooch and he gave Paul and I a most hearty welcome.
I heart New Yorker's and their excellent dogs!
A beautifully maintained, high-style, glamorous residence.
"Casa Alameda" by Maurice E. Kressly - Two of Central Florida's most notable, exuberant, and easily seen Mediterranean Revival style homes were designed by Kressly. Winter Park's "Casa de la Esquina" (1922), on the corner of Palmer Avenue and Alabama Drive, and College Park's "Casa Alameda" at 754 Seville Place, Orlando. Both homes exhibit the careful attention to massing and detail for which Kressly was known, as well as a theatricality that sets them apart from neighboring homes in the same style. "Casa Alameda" may be ranked high among Kressly's work, which can compare favorably with the designs of his Orlando contemporary, architect James Gamble Rogers II (see for instance Rogers' "Casa Feliz" in Winter Park).
