...welche neben einer LKM V60D als Rangierlok in der "Gasbude" in Dobrich zu finden ist. Beim Warten auf den Personenzug nach Кардам, welchen es nicht mehr gibt, begab ich mich an das Tor des Werksgelände und beobachtete die "Dacia" beim rangieren. Ich hoffte zwar, dass die V60 nochmal angeschmissen wird um zu rangieren, aber das geschah leider nicht.
46 014 and 44 143 of TBD-TP ahead of freight train 50515 at Voluyak station near Sofia.
46 014 is another revived former BDZ locomotive. A few years ago TBD bought the loco from BDZ and sent it in Romania for major overhaul. Since several days the locomotive is entered in operation and serving the trains of the private operator.

45 186 of BDZ Cargo ahead of freight train 20670 (Povelyanovo - Sofia) captured between Kurilo and Iliyantsi stations. At the back of the train 43 547 is a helper locomotive.
The private Bulgarian railway operator TBD-TP is continuing slowly to increase its locomotive fleet. With the revival of the former BDZ electric locomotive 46 006, they have already 8 electric locomotives, three of which are class 46 (LE 5100). TBD bought the loco from BDZ after it was abandoned from the state operator for more than 20 years. Since the end of 2023 46 006 is again in regular use after a major overhaul in Romania. On the photo the loco is hauling a regular train with empty coal cars towards Aldomirovtsi station.

43 544 of BDZ-TP (BDZ Cargo) is is seen between Sandanski and Damyanitsa stations with southbound container train towards Greece (25.08.2022).
IC train 8601 is dashing through the Upper Thracian Plain, led by the new Smartron locomotive 80 038 of BDZ-PP. Due to the track reconstruction on the main line #8 between Plovdiv and Burgas, the train is diverted through Dimitrovgrad. Despite the longer route, in the heavy season the train carries hundreds of people to the Black sea coast and back, so that's why it needs more coaches than usual. Actually this summer during the weekends it became the longest passenger train in Bulgaria. The photo has been taken between Popovitsa and Parvomay stations on 14 August 2022.
This is the closest I got to a freight train in Bulgaria: after having been treated to a Ludmilla in lieu of the planned Faur machine, BDŽ Cargo finally gave me a class 55 loco, and one in quite a splendid state at that - but without a payload. Still, could be worse... Strashimirovo, 02-03-2022.
Two Škoda 68E locomotives of BDZ-PP captured at Dragoman station. 44 078 is leaving the station with the international train 7993, while 44 204, which has just arrived after a major overhaul in the Czech Republic, is waiting for a crew in order to be taken to the Gorna Oryahovitsa depot.
44 144 of BDZ-PP with regional train 20214 at Vlado Trichkov stop in the Iskar gorge. The locomotive has been just entered in service after a major overhaul in ŽOS Vrútky a.s., Slovakia.
44 092 is the 6th Skoda locomotive of TBD-TP which they bought from BDZ. Two years ago the locomotive was in awful condition, but now is completely overhauled and it is looking very refreshing. On the photo it has just arrived at Voluyak station with one of the overhauled in CMZO in Czech Republik Skoda of BDZ - 44 087.
43 533 of BDZ-TP (BDZ Cargo) is entering Iliyantsi station with container train. The train is coming from the port of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Freight train 30623 of BDZ-TP (Cargo), hauled by locomotives 46 026 (at the back) and 46 007 (at the front). This is one of the heaviest freight trains of BDZ-TP, carrying sulfuric acid from Pirdop towards the port of Burgas and Razdelna station in northeast Bulgaria.

After spending more than 20 years of isolation, in 2020 46 013 of BDZ Cargo has been sent to RELOC S.A. Craiova (Romania) for a major overhaul. In the beginning of April 2021 the locomotive has been sent back to Bulgaria. Now it is serving freight trains mostly on the Sub-Balkan railway line, between Pirdop and Burgas. On the photo 46 013 is leading a big train with sulfuric acid from Pirdop copper mining plant towards the port of Burgas. Photo has been taken between Klisura and Rozino on 23 May 2021.

44 072 of TBD-TP passes over the international road E80 near Kalotina (BG) with a coal train from Stanyantsi mine. At this place in the next months a big reconstruction will take place. Due to the building of the highway, this old iron bridge will be destroyed. The railway line will be temporary shifted, while the rough construction of the highway is ready. Then the railway line will be returned on its old place, but on a new bridge over the highway. On the left side of the photo, a small temporary bridge is already build, on the place where the line will be temporary shifted. A lot of work has to be done here, and surely the place will look quite different after the works over. But this iconic iron bridge will definitely missing.
44 103 of BDZ-TP leads a tank car train with sulfuric acid from Pirdop to Razdelna. Due to the major repair of the Koznitsa tunnel in the summer of 2020, the train was diverted through Sofia and Gorna Oryahovitsa. Photo has been taken near Stolnik station, on the Sub-Balkan railway line.
