DB Cargo 66091 leads a short rake of MMA wagons through Eccles Heath on Friday 18th April 2025. The GM locomotive returned to traffic with DB after a visit to Toton paint shop earlier this month, having previously been on hire to DRS.
69009 'Western Consort' coasts towards Ely North Junction, near Queen Adelaide, on Tuesday 8th April 2025. The Maroon livery locomotive, to celebrate the British Rail Western Region class 52's from the 1960's, leads a late running 6E85 0815 Middleton Towers to Barnby Dun sand train.
ROG 37800 'Cassiopeia' shatters the peace near the Great Ouse River on the outskirts of Ely on Tuesday 8th April 2025. The veteran EE locomotive drags two Class 465 EMU's towards Kingsbury EMR Sidings for scrapping. With the drone flying further east behind me, I worked out I had enough time to capture the consist closer to the river. I was lucky to have the boat enter shot in the final few seconds as the 37 accelerated towards Ely North Junction.
DB Cargo 66185 hauls an unusually loaded 4L38 East Mids Gateway to Felixstowe North intermodal through Pymoor on Tuesday 8th April 2025. This location between Manea and Ely has several unusual elements for this section of railway. The Straight Furlong road in the scene is one of the very few roads that run underneath the railway in the Fenland area. The railway is highly elevated above the low lying surroundings to cross the Welney Washes that can be seen the far distance. The workshop to the left of shot includes a very old bus, which looks like it has not seen passengers in a very long time! (Photo taken with drone)
