47848 t'n't 47746 (1Z24) Cardiff Central to Falkirk Grahamston West Coast Brush Type 4's top and tail the Pathfinder tour to Scotland, unfortunately it was not only a dull but wet morning today.
West Coast Railways have revived 47848 since acquiring it from the Rail Operations Group in 2021, one of the four transferred over at that time, and somehow it has eluded me since then. Saturday 18th April saw it passing through Hartford on the West Coast Main Line as the power on day one of Pathfinder Railtours 'The Easter Highlander', running as 1Z24 0739 Cardiff Central to Falkirk Grahamston. 47746 'Chris Fudge 29.7.70 - 22.6.10' was tail end Charlie at this point. Two WCRC Class 37s were due to take over at the front from Preston onwards.
