I show you Wills Creek coming down out of the mountains!

I am the one that threw that chair into the creek. Fortunately I do not think there were any witnesses to my rage the night it happened!

Yeah man there are Haystack Mountain (left), Wills Mountain (right), and the water gap "The Narrows" between them.

Wills Creek flows to the North Branch Potomac River, which flows to the Potomac River, which flows to Chesapeake Bay.

Write me a song about an Allegheny Mountains powerline right-of-way.

Here one is, to inspire you. Any musical genre is fine but I prefer high-NRG dance songs with wry lyrics.

Better to be up here than down there: Less boring!

Coal trains constantly rumble past a "Martin's Food Markets" supermarket.

Unsightliness in the form of an Appalachian smalltown stripmall from 1991. by Tim Kiser

Unsightliness in the form of an Appalachian smalltown stripmall from 1991.

The apricot-colored paint is cheery and likeable but the building is nonetheless unsightly.

Most of the local people do not dislike the building. A sizeable minority respond to a visiting photographer's mild assertion that the stripmall is "unsightly" as if it were a grave personal insult to themselves and their families and ancestors, an invitation to fight.
