Another of the HISTORIC BRICK BUILDINGS for which Cumberland, Maryland, is renowned.

I remember trick-or-treating at that door with the awning when I was a child.

-----------------------

In Cumberland, Maryland, on June 26th, 2019, a building on Paca Street, west of South Smallwood Street.

The State of Maryland's record for the foreground building lists 1900 as an estimated construction date. According to my analysis of Sanborn fire insurance maps, it was erected sometime between 1904 and 1910.

I show you Wills Creek coming down out of the mountains!

I am the one that threw that chair into the creek. Fortunately I do not think there were any witnesses to my rage the night it happened!

Yeah man there are Haystack Mountain (left), Wills Mountain (right), and the water gap "The Narrows" between them.

Comfortable urban landscape of Sheetz parking lot and Sheetz pump canopy. by Tim Kiser

Comfortable urban landscape of Sheetz parking lot and Sheetz pump canopy.

It is comfortable because we associate Sheetz with our respective fond memories of the scent of gasoline on our fingers as we alternate between:

• bites of a 639-calorie "Big Mozz" cheeseburger with provolone, marinara, and breaded mozarella sticks on it;
• and sips of a 1389-calorie Reese's Peanut Butter Cup milkshake.

Unfortunately that church over there at the left has badly poisoned the brains of generations of its attendees!

It was built in 2016, per the State of Maryland's "Real Property Data Search" website, and replaced an older Sheetz station, per Google Streetview.

In w. Maryland a wondrous Citgo w/Pick'n'Go. by Tim Kiser

In w. Maryland a wondrous Citgo w/Pick'n'Go.

When I was a child I used to daydream about converting the Pick'n'Go building into a house for my family. I'd imagine different ways of dividing up the interior space.

The rounded square pump canopy is adorable. The red-orange-green-yellow color scheme of the building's roof and its signs is adorable.

Woah, the building is from 1972!, according to the State of Maryland's "Real Property Data Search" website.

I would never put the word "pick" in the name of a business because people associate it with people picking boogers, people picking at scabs, people picking their shorts out of the cracks of their asses then sniffing their fingers, etc. Gross!
