12400 YX16OHS photographed at Ilford working route 145 towards Dagenham Asda.
12400 was one of few vehicles from the 53 to transfer to Barking as a result of the PVR cut of said route from the previous year. It was recently painted into this East London Ambassador livery, to celebrate Barking bus garage's centenary.
LUC 253, London Transport RTL 1076 (1950 Leyland RTL / Park Royal) on route 145 at Gale Street, Becontree.
RTL 1076 entered service on tram replacement routes at Clapham Garage, and was with London Transport until 1964, latterly as a driver training bus. It was exported to Canada later that year and had a second service life with Abegweit Sightseeing Tours, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, prior to its return to England in 2010, it is now in the fleet of the London Bus Company, Northfleet.
