An as yet unidentified Southern Railway class 377 'Electrostar' works the 10.16am London Victoria - Portsmouth Harbour via Littlehampton (1Z18) over the River Arun at Ford, in West Sussex.
I wasn't intending stopping off here but when I saw how close the river crossing was to the station, decided to change travel plans and spend time here on the return journey. The low-tide exposing the river bank likely had some influence too.
With RealTimeTrains open on the phone I made careful efforts to record the numerous train workings as they passed this spot, but unfortunately it seems that Southern Railway don't include unit numbers in the data they make available - a pity.
