Theresa May told Britain that there was no such thing as a "magic money tree". Apparantly she was mistaken.

The origin of money trees, not uncommon in parts of Yorkshire, are believed to date back to pagan times when people believed mystical spirits lived in trees and by making offerings to the trees people would benefit from wisdom, healing and insight. It is a similar tradition to that of throwing coins into running water, fountains or wishing wells.

But the first recorded instance of a money tree where a fallen branch had coins hammered in seems to date to the 1700’s in Scotland near Argyll. Queen Victoria even mentioned there being one near Gairloch in the Highlands in one of her diary entries.

The belief associated with money trees seems to come from the folklore that you could rid yourself of an illness by hammering a coin into a tree. But conversely if someone took a coin out from one of the trees that they would fall ill. This then evolved with people believing that they would be granted a wish if they drove a coin past the bark into the tree’s wood.

*Frühlingswiese mit Blaustern und Gänseblümchen*

After the crocuses had faded, squill and daisies began to beautify the meadow behind the house.

Nachdem die Krokusse verblüht waren begannen Blaustern und Gänseblümchen die Wiese hinter dem Haus zu verschönern.

A few weeks ago I discovered this spruce forest, the bottom of which is completely covered with a dense cushion of moss. Simply wonderful to walk carefully over this soft carpet.

Vor einigen Wochen entdeckte ich diesen Fichtenwald, dessen Boden völlig mit einem dichten Moospolster bedeckt ist. Einfach herrlich, vorsichtig über diesen weichen Teppich zu gehen.

Early spring with fog and sunshine in the forest not far from my place of residence.
Sometimes you happen to be in the right place at the right time and want to return there again and again ... at least virtually. I hope you can handle another picture from the series.

Vorfrühling mit Nebel und Sonnenschein in einem Wald nicht weit von meinem Wohnort.
Manchmal ist man zufällig zum richtigen Zeitpunkt am richtigen Ort und möchte dort immer wieder zurück kehren...zumindest virtuell. Ich hoffe, ihr könnt noch ein Bild aus der Serie verkraften.

Early in the morning at the waterfall Virje near Plužna / Bovec / Slovenia before the sun outshone the falling water (June, 13, 2017, 6:38 am).
I had hoped there much more water. However, I would then the intensive turquoise-green shining pool escaped.

Früh morgens am Wasserfall Virje nahe Plužna/Bovec/Slovenien, bevor die Sonne das fallende Wasser überstrahlte (13.06.2017, 6:38 Uhr).
Ich hatte mir dort deutlich mehr Wasser erhofft. Allerdings wäre mir dann der im frühen Morgenlicht intensiv türkis-grün leuchtende Pool entgangen.
