I had an idea of what I wanted to photograph pretty quickly and I didn't have to travel far. My own front garden was far enough away to overexpose this fern a bit.
Nephrolepis exaltata (Linnaeus, 1759) - Boston fern.
The ferns are a large group of plants with about 12,000 fossil and modern species. They first appear in the Devonian fossil record. Ferns have true leaves, stems, and roots. The leaf is called a megaphyll.
