Two ferries cross under the main span of the Rio-Antirrio Bridge.
The 2380 m long (1.48 mi) Rio-Antirrio Bridge is the longest fully multi-span suspended bridge in the world. It crosses the Gulf of Corinth near Patras and provides a road link between the city of Rio on the Peloponnese peninsula and Antirrio on the Greek mainland. It was opened one day before the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens to carry the Olympic flame.

The canopy of a former entrance to the once prestigious Pathé Palace movie theater was home to a homeless person last Monday night.
Many thanks to Philippe Close, Rudi Vervoort and the other self-proclaimed ''progressive'' woke-green rulers of Brussels who have achieved such a wonderful transformation of the capital of Europe... at the expense of an abysmal budget deficit.

The tower was built in 1972 by Groupe Structures architects for the GIB group, prior to its takeover by Carrefour. The building comprises 21,000 m² of offices, 8,000 m² of archives and some 1,000 parking spaces, as well as a shopping center topped by a 10-storey tower housing its headquarters. Prior to Carrefour offices relocation, the tower was sold to the French Groupe Teychené.

For the first time since COVID19, the Brussels New Year's fireworks were launched in 2025 from the Atomium.
As always, amateur fireworks were illegal, but that didn't stop them from exploding all over the city!

Yesterday morning, Brussels awoke to a sea of clouds low enough to reveal tall buildings.
A sea of clouds is an overcast layer of low clouds, usually caused by a temperature inversion.
The two buildings are: on the left, the UpSite Tower, completed in 2014, which has become the tallest residential building in Belgium, surpassing the Brusilia Residence; and on the right, the Koekelberg Basilica, built between 1905 and 1969.

Low clouds break and the early sun illuminates spots near the shore of Laguna Lejia where James' flamingos feed all morning.
James's flamingo (Phoenicoparrus jamesi), AKA the puna flamingo, is one of the three species of flamingo found in Chile and of the six species in the world.
Like all flamingos, they are omnivorous filter-feeders, filling their beaks with salt lake water and sifting it out for plants, insects, shrimp, and fish.
Laguna Lejía (Bleach Lagoon) is an alkaline salt lake in the Atacama desert.
It is located in the Chilean Altiplano of the Antofagasta Region,
100 km (62 mi) south-east of San Pedro de Atacama,
at an altitude of 4325 m (14,200 ft).
It is shallow and has no outlet, currently covering an area of
nearly 2 km² (0.77 sq mi) with an average depth of 1.2 m (4 ft).

Diane and Marie-Claire return to the car after swimming in one of the salt-saturated ponds of the Lagunas Escondidas de Baltinache.
The Lagunas Escondidas de Baltinache are a group of 7 pools averaging 5 meters in diameter and up to 6 meters deep with a very high salinity (about 220 g/l).
They are located in the remains of a dried-up salt lake southwest of San Pedro de Atacama (Chile) and can only be approached by car via a 45-kilometer dirt road.
