Through more than a half-mile of lowland forest the trail climbs gradually, then steeply for the last eighth-mile to Marymere Falls. Average hiking time (round trip): 1 1/2 hours.

The path takes you to the edge of the Olympic Wilderness. From a human-shaped world you are about to step into terrain dominated by other forces. There are give other short, easy Touch of Wilderness hikes in the park at Staircase, Pioneer Visitor Center, Soleduck, La Push and Ozette. Each trail enters a different environment: coastal, river and lowland forests, waterfalls and tidepools.

Marymere Falls is located in Olympic National Park near Lake Crescent in Washington, United States. The falls are accessed by a one-mile, well maintained, dirt trail through old-growth lowland forest consisting of fir, cedar, hemlock, and alder trees. Falls creek descends from Aurora Ridge and tumbles over Marymere Falls and then flows into Barnes Creek. It has a height of 90 feet. The falls is one of the more popular attractions in the area, due to ease of access and proximity to U.S. Highway 101.

Hetch Hetchy & O'Shaughnessy Dam, Yosemite Village, Yosemite Nat

Hetch Hetchy, the well-known reservoir providing water to the entire Northern California. We got to hike on the day after the mountain fire and the sight visibility wasn't too high, yet we enjoyed the majestic views of Hetch Hetchy Valley north of Yosemite National Park.

Pinnacles National Park Roadtrip, California, USA

So I got married, and I got to spend some time with my friends from Europe after the wedding - my wife felt bad that I could not really do a so-called bachelor's party thing.

We hit the road to Pinnacles National Park, the closest national park from San Francisco Bay Area. It was only one night of camping trip besides hikings in the afternoon and morning, but it was well worth it. It's a beautiful park, although it's not well-known like Yosemite National Park. Also I had been to Pinnacles previously only during summer and the weather was burning hot back then. Since this time it was already in October, much nicer weather helped us relax at the reservoir, relax, and hike more. It became another unforgettable trip to us. And big thanks to my wife who is so understanding about me having a trip with a guy after we got married, since my friend lives so far that we could NOT do a bachelor's party thing!

Otter Cove Overlook, Acadia National Park, Maine, USA

New England weather in summer can be tricky. That day we were having a doubt after seeing a storm on the way to Acadia National Park whether we should still keep going north in that weather.

Luckily it turned out much better once we got near the national park - some spots had harsh back light against us and it was a bit challenging to photograph some of the beautiful landscape of New England, but we had a memorable roadtrip again.

My friend from Tokyo, Japan visited me with his wife. They had a few places they wanted to go to in San Francisco Bay Area, then also this vast national park we are always proud of in Northern California: Yosemite.

They did not regret, they were stunned by how vast the sky is here. The beauty of nature at Yosemite is certainly impeccable. There is nothing like it nowhere else, is my opinion.

I hope they made some memories that they will remember for their life time.

Marble Falls Trail, Sequoia National Park, California

Wow, it really took forever to find which trail this was, and I think finally I got it.

This was a fun trip with a group of friends back in June 2011. I was obviously not good at geotagging / logging where I went to, but anyway, we rented a house outside Sequoia National Park / Kings Canyon National Park for a few days and hiked as much as we could.

The very last day took place in this Marble Falls Trail, where you can enjoy the green sceneries of Central California Sierras with wildflowers. Waterfalls were running quite fast as they need to put up a sign saying "People can get killed by fast flow of water sometimes so be careful!" sort of signs.

These parks are underrated, especially compared to the world's famous Yosemite National Park, located not so far north from here. We need to go back there again.
