Morris Motors was a British car manufacturer founded in 1912 by William Morris. It became one of the most iconic names in British automotive history, producing popular models like the Morris Minor and Morris Oxford. These cars were known for their reliability and affordability, making them a favorite among British families.
Morris Motors Limited was a British privately owned motor vehicle manufacturing company formed in 1919 to take over the assets of William Morris's WRM Motors Limited and continue production of the same vehicles. By 1926 its production represented 42 per cent of British car manufacture—a remarkable expansion rate attributed to William Morris's practice of buying in major as well as minor components and assembling them in his own factory.
Self-financing through his enormous profits Morris did borrow some money from the public in 1926 and later shared some of Morris Motors' ownership with the public in 1936 when the new capital was used by Morris Motors to buy many of his other privately held businesses.

This was my first and last time driving, and then hiking, into Johnson Canyon. We'll maybe it won't be the last time driving, but the hike out to Hungry Bill's Ranch won't be repeated. It's just too darn overgrown in there.
William Johnson established a ranch in this namesake canyon in the 1870’s. He built irrigation channels and terraces, planted beans, squash, melons, corn, and fruit and nut orchards. His enterprise was motivated by the mining camp of Panamint City, five miles over the Panamint Pass on the western side of the mountain range. After the flood wiped out Panamint City, Hungry Bill moved on to other enterprises.

The Zaporozhye (Ukrainian Запорожец, Russian Запорожец - Zaporozhets, "the one from Zaporizhzhia") was a series of automobiles from the Soviet or Ukrainian manufacturer Saporisky Awtomobilebudiwny Zavod (SAS) in the city of Zaporizhzhia. Around 1950, under Stalin, the development of a simple, cheap vehicle for war invalids was ordered. However, it was only built from 1960 under Khrushchev and was produced in various model series until 1994. Colloquially, these two-door vehicles were usually called Saporosh or simply Sapo in Germany - especially in the GDR.
