Leonardo da Vinci: Half-Figure of an Apostle (ca. 1494 - 1496)

"It was presumably in connection with his famous Last Supper at the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie that Leonardo created this apostle, though he does not appear there in this form. Rage is reflected in the apostle's face as he bunches his robe together before his breast as if to protect himself against Christ's accusatory words, "Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you will betray me" (John 13:21). At the same time, his furiously raised index finger makes it seem as if he wants to demand the culprit's punishment..." (information text in the museum).

Its striking design captivated the public, earning it a place at several prestigious automotive events. The car's elegance inspired the Aga Khan, who commissioned a one-off Quattroporte chassis n° AM121 004. This prototype continues to be celebrated as a masterpiece of design and engineering and was prized at prestigious international concours. It has been inspected and certified by Maserati Classiche in Modena, Italy.
