Dandelion Taraxacum officinale seeding head

Dandelion, the end of it's life you may think, but no it's the start of many more lives/plants, and they still look lovely without their cheerful flowers.

Early light and dew

Inspired by the backlight theme for Macro Monday, these are tiny seeds shot early into the foggy low sun. Rained last night, and might rain tomorrow. Looks better viewed larger, I think. I wonder how many pause to enlarge a photo?

Seeds from heather, i think. Less than 10mm/~.4 inch

Many thanks for your comments this past several weeks. We near the end of the election; what lies ahead? And thanks to the Flickr people for this site and the encouragement it offers.

Packed with more vitamin C than an equivalent amount of orange, the bright green flesh of the kiwifruit speckled with tiny black seeds adds a dramatic tropical flair to any fruit salad. California kiwifruit is available November through May, while the New Zealand crop hits the market June through October making fresh kiwis available year round.
The kiwifruit is a small fruit approximately 3 inches long and weighing about four ounces. Its green flesh is almost creamy in consistency with an invigorating taste reminiscent of strawberries, melons and bananas, yet with its own unique sweet flavor.

[From Wikipedia]
Kiwifruit (often shortened to kiwi) or Chinese gooseberry is the name given to the edible berries of several species of woody vines in the genus Actinidia. The most common cultivar group of kiwifruit ('Hayward') is oval, about the size of a large hen's egg (5–8 cm (2.0–3.1 in) in length and 4.5–5.5 cm (1.8–2.2 in) in diameter). It has a fibrous, dull greenish-brown skin and bright green or golden flesh with rows of tiny, black, edible seeds. The fruit has a soft texture and a sweet but unique flavor. It is a commercial crop in several countries, such as Italy, New Zealand, Chile, Greece, and France.

Crown of Autumn

I'm back! Apple had my old girl here in the shop for a week, still could not figure out what went awry, and just decided to install an entirely new OS on the thing. I've lost some software, but thank God, nothing else (software is replaceable!).

Alas, just a day after my Mac came back home, I was walloped with the absolute worst case of food poisoning I've had in my life—as in I lost ten pounds in three days (sounds great, but truly, I do NOT recommend Food Poisoning as weight loss) and was just today able to eat solid food for the first time in nine days.

Don't get food poisoning.

But I'm back! Yay! See you 'round!

Maple!

Amazingly these unusual leaves and infant seeds belong to a rare breed of maple tree.
