Diverted Indian Pacific 4SA8 (2022)

What did that bloke say about Mad Dogs and Englishmen? Attempting to put lipstick on a pig with the diverted IP 4SA8 powered by NR25-85 running through the Adelaide Hills in the middle of the day with high summer light!
Actually I was trying to show the unusual sight of a very long passenger train in an unfamiliar environment - that is till the Great Southern starts running again soon.

Matched MKA Rebuilds (2021)

3hrs 33mins after the empty grain train was photographed on the bridge, the loaded ORA grainy from Tailem Bend trundles across the Mighty Murray scattering the stupid birds for the umpteenth time today: 2182 with CLP17 leading the matched sets of CLP-ALF-ALF-CLP8, Sunday Aug 22, 2021.

Orange & Yellow: Matched MKA Rebuilds in Canola (2021)

Loaded ORA grainy powers uphill round the spectacular Callington Curve past a bright yellow canola crop. The scene was dull and overcast right up till the train approached the level crossing and then the train gods smiled, the clouds parted, the sun shone at around 80% creating a colourful scene: 2182 with CLP17 leading the matched sets of CLP-ALF-ALF-CLP8, Sunday Aug 22, 2021.

Rescued! (2020)

PN 9323-9321 were sent to Tailem Bend from Islington to rescue 7MP7 and assist NR96-NR60-G538 over the Hills on July 25, 2020. The train had plenty of power and flew up and over the Ranges with the 93s in charge - obviously trying to make up some of the 3+hrs lost at Tailem Bend. This was one of my first shots of a 93 class working a train, and it was great seeing all the green at Callington!

Sun-drenched Great Southern

The final Great Southern luxury excursion train for the inaugural season, 2AT8 operated by Journey Beyond Rail, is drenched by the hot early morning sun as it passes through parched farmlands at the iconic Callington curve in the Adelaide Hills. The train is just 90 minutes away from its destination in the capital of South Australia. Jan 30, 2020. I’ve shot this image into the early morning sun to accentuate the summer sun and the dry, drought-stricken farmland. I’m not entirely happy with the results and not sure if it works as intended!

Movements featuring CFCLA locomotives south of Adelaide have been very rare since 2014 despite being very common north of Adelaide.
