An American Bittern (Botaurus lentiginosus) originally found yesterday by Lance V. at Nygren Wetlands at a long distance away. Observed during fall 2024, FOY
Able to hear then see and photograph a few Prothonotary Warblers (Protonotaria citrea) along the Sugar River at Colored Sands Forest Preserve in Winnebago County, Illinois during spring migration 2024. There were at least 3 if not 4 PROWs, 2-3 males and 1 female. Males were chasing one another and even battled falling into the river where the fight continued. Both eventually broke off and flew their separate ways.
