This week happened to be the annual A and P Show near home (the New Zealand version of a county fair). The weekend event opens with a night show on the Friday evening with the side show rides and attractions.

The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P) was founded in 1859. The sign on the side of the wagon says 53rd anniversary sale, so this photo must be from 1912.

The refurbishment presented new challenges for the Teesside yard as the refit needed to use old fashioned method's for heritage reasons.
The work on the Christian Radich is an eye catching part of a record breaking start to the year for the firm still flying the flag for an industry that remains a signature one for the region...and which is enjoying a real resurgence.
