When Carla first started using me to create images of her, she said that her business increased more than double after she used the images to promote herself on social media sites. Now that she's at a new barber shop, she wanted to create new images to promote herself again. She said she wanted to create something "edgy" and I think we did. She did great! You may have noticed that I have shot this model several times. Her name is Carla. She models, and is also a barber in Branson, MO at a barber shop called Fat Donney's. Ok...so I'm REALLY enjoying exploring the Missouri Ozarks! Even in the winter season (I realize it is now officially Spring, but it's so not yet here.) There is a different kind of beauty I find in the leaf-less trees, the lack of color, and the feeling of peace when visiting secluded spaces such as these. #explorenature

Nothing is better than a summer rain during a photoshoot.

How did you spend your Father's Day this year? I was not able to drive to the desert in Nevada from Branson, MO to visit my own father this year, however, I did have enough time in the day to load up my wife and kids and surprise my father in law with a visit! Time well spent! In all honesty, I did go off of my diet for a few, select carbs that were worth every single bite, and if my scale isn't lying to me today, I only gained back one little pound from my flirting with pizza.

I had the absolute pleasure of making portraits of a little angel named Amy yesterday. This is going to be one of the most difficult jobs, just because of the culling process. Every singe portrait of her is absolutely stunning, she did so very good! And I'm struggling to decide which images to remove so that I don't overwhelm my client with too many portraits to choose from.

This little angel so reminded me of when my own children were this age. In the middle of the shoot, I had a vivid memory of photographing my own children when they were at this age, and I felt a slight ping in my heart. You parents out there with older children know exactly what I'm talking about, and you younger ones, be sure to embrace every moment with your little children. Every moment you have with them is so precious and worth so much more than what you realize now, but you'll realize it in years to come. Little Amy, what a precious soul, I feel blessed to have been chosen to make portraits of her.

There's something so special about the glow of a mother-to-be! It's such a special time in life! And you know what? It's pretty amazing for the fathers as well. I remember gently pressing my head against the stomach and speaking to my unborn kids on a daily basis, so that they would know the sound of my voice long before birth. There's nothing better than experiencing parenthood, but being able to create lasting moments for other soon-to-be parents is a close second...
