Down here admiring Scajaquada Creek in Cheektowaga.

SCAJAQUADA CREEK IN CHEEKTOWAGA, I said.

Scajaquada Creek is beautiful but I would never want to wallow around in it, nor drink of its waters, which I assume are poisonous.

At the Star Express in West Seneca with its locally famous "cigarettes cheaper" hamburger. by Tim Kiser

At the Star Express in West Seneca with its locally famous "cigarettes cheaper" hamburger.

"Comfortable urban setting," I sighed approvingly as I took pictures. "Ugh but the speed limit is too high," I muttered.

Funfact: The street at the left is the boundary between the Town of West Seneca (right) and the Town of Cheektowaga (left).

Funfact: According to Google Streetview, the "Star Express" sign was installed sometime between September 2014 and September 2017, replacing a "Stop & Gas" sign. You thought it was older didn't ya!

I love the phenomenon of "concrete sidewalk through blacktop area."

It is from 1969! Among city hall buildings in the U.S., this one is my favorite. Also it is one of my favorite orange buildings.

In 2018 Lackawanna's dreadful mayor at the time said it is "the ugliest building on planet Earth" and promised to demolish it ("We'll be bringing that down"). I am glad he failed!

Per the news article linked above, the orange addition was built in 1968-1969.

I am told it is one of the largest expanses of siding in all of North Tonawanda.

The staircase users are happy to be indoors, I bet.

Wow this siding looks great when it gets RAKED BY SUNLIGHT on summer evenings.

Six mailboxes.

Large expanse of white siding at ruin of Ray's.

Funfact: The building marks the southwestern corner of the Town of Cheektowaga. The street in the foreground is the boundary between Cheektowaga and the Town of West Seneca; and the brick street at the left is the boundary between Cheektowaga and the City of Buffalo.

The Town of Cheektowaga is a tarpaulin, and Ray's is a cinderblock holding down one corner.
