SOF12 Craftfoam, Sparkle, & Secret Santa

I created this card for the following Stamptoberfest 2012 Challenges at Two Peas in a Bucket:
* Daniel's SOF12 Craftfoam Challenge
* Jan's SOF12 Sparkle Challenge
* Michelle's SOF12 Secret Santa Challenge, and
* my own SOF12 Gratitude Shower Challenge (although it won't count for the RAK)

The focal leaf is made from orange craft foam or "fun foam" that had an adhesive backing. I stamped a leaf from Hero Arts CL457 Real Leaves onto it using Timber Brown Staz-On ink. Once the ink was dry, I fussy cut it. Then I used Ranger Archival Ink in Sepia to stamp the "Thank you for everything" sentiment from Hero Arts CL578 Good Friends.

The background is made from a #8 manila shipping tag from Ranger. I used Tsukineko sponge daubers to apply Tea Dye, Bundled Sage, and Pumice Stone Distress Inks. Then I sprayed a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water from a Mini-Mister onto Hero Arts S5435 Graph Background and pressed the tag face down onto the stamp. I immediate flipped it over and dried it with a heat tool.

Then I spritzed plain water on my non-stick craft sheet. I dipped Hero Arts K5192 Dots into the water as if it were ink and stamped it onto the background piece. Again, I immediately dried it with my heat tool. These two steps, stamping with Perfect Pearls mist and then again with water, are described in the Double-Stamped Background technique article at Ranger.

Next I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Classic Rectangles and Large Classic Scalloped Rectangles to die cut and dry emboss the background and a matte from tan cardstock. I edged the background with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and adhered it to the scalloped matte. Both background elements are attached to a chocolate card base using foam squares for dimension.

To finish the card, I adhered the orange fun foam leaf. I added a bow made from baker's twine I received from my SOF12 Secret Santa Michelle using glue dots.

Upcycled Autumn Goodie Jar & Matching Card

The goodie jar is made from a recycled plastic rice container. The background is made from 90# cold-pressed watercolor paper colored with Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans, Dried Marigold, Wild Honey, and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks. Fiskars Sunburst border punch.

I stamped music from Hero Arts CG279 Musical Clef cling set onto the background using Tea Dye Distress Ink. Next I stamped a long botanical grass or willow image from Hero Arts CL428 Earth Flowers using Wild Honey Distress Ink. Then I stamped a spiky fern leaf from Hero Arts CL457 Real Leaves using Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. The "You are someone special" sentiment is from Hero Arts CL578 Good Friends and is stamped using Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

The butterflies are from Hero Arts CL383 Antique Engravings and are stamped on Glossy Paper using Ranger Archival Ink in jet black. Then they were colored using Spiced Marmalade (orange), Mustard Seed (yellow), and Shabby Shutters (green) Distress Inks. Next, I spread a layer of Crystal Stickles glitter glue over top of the butterflies. This gives them a lot of shine and sparkle! The butterflies are attached to the goodie jar and matching card using foam squares for dimension.

The lid of the goodie jar is made from a thin sheet of craft aluminum and has been embossed with a sunflower design. Once embossed, the reverse side was filled with DAP lightweight spackling compound to keep its shape. Then the metal was trimmed with titanium scissors. Next, the lid was altered with lemonade, peach bellini, and terra cotta alcohol inks from Ranger. It is attached to the original plastic lid using Glossy Accents as glue. I adhered natural colored lace from Blumenthal Lansing Company all the way around the top of the lid using 1" glue lines from Glue Dots.

Blessings notecard Take Ten

Mail came very late today, but when it did there was a copy of Stampers' Sampler Take Ten because they published this card in the Autumn 2012 issue. I used Liquid Applique to stamp 3 of the Hero Arts Real Leaves on kraft paper. I learned that technique when I began stamping & it's one I still enjoy. The sentiment is Studio G. Thanks for looking!

90 Minute Scramble - Trinh's by marcyk924

90 Minute Scramble - Trinh's

For DH's birthday on Monday - perfect timing! What a FUN scramble!!
This was easier than it looks! I clear embossed the background with the Real Leaves stamp, CL457 on to kraft paper. While it was cooling, I cut the plaid digi paper from a scrap I had used on a previous card. I picked another scrap to emboss with the CB Chic Circle Frame. I used dots of Ranger Dimensional Pearls, but I heat set them and they collapsed, LOL!

I didn't make the leaf - it was from a friend and it came exactly the way it looks, It was a set and tied up with the ribbon, so I used a piece of it on the leaf.

I QUICKLY glued all layers together - as you can see by my uneven edges!! The tag is from another scrap of paper that I embossed and punched the four corners.

That's it. It could have used something in the circle, but I wanted to leave time to upload picture.

Autumn Leaves

Card I made for jintyoo7(Janet) for the HA Fall Exchange. I've been loving all the leaf cards in the Flickr pool so built my card around leaves. I gold embossed a bunch of different colors and selected these 3 from my pile. Thought they went so great with the frame I cut from BoBunny dotted paper. I modified the polaroid frame from a Lily Pad Cards digi kit and cut it on my Silhouette. Just love the Sunshine Designer papers too! Just heard from Janet that she received my card so am able to post now. TFL!!
