We got us a circa-1875 with striped arches that spring from pilasters.

"VERILY YON VOUSSOIRS alternate between brick and stone don't they," I thundered as I took pictures from a vulnerable position in the expansive driveway of a busy gas station across the street.

2 concrete block retaining walls with concrete waterslide, between staircase and planter, on the boundary between 2 apartment properties.

When these walls were new people thought they were beautiful!

A waste of stairs is occurring over there, stairs-too-wide.

Q: Are the employees at "A Touch of Heaven" aware that the tree outside their door (an Ailanthus altissima) is known as "tree of heaven."

A: I hope so. I am too shy to call and find out.

Ailanthus comes to rusticated concrete blocks of ca. 1930. by Tim Kiser

© Tim Kiser, all rights reserved.

Ailanthus comes to rusticated concrete blocks of ca. 1930.

To know what they are called is to like them: rusticated concrete blocks.

Ailanthus altissima is an invasive noxious weed and we North Americans are supposed to be unhappy when we see it.

The building is inadequately protected from auto traffic.
