A lone figure captured during a lunchtime stroll around Westminster in London. It was summer and the light was very harsh,so went looking for interesting light/shadow transitions. Canon EOS 6D & EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L

A picture taken on my way from Charing Cross station to the office, taking the scenic route for a wander to take some pictures. I tried a number of different angles with different light as the sun came and went, but I like this one the most, with the lady in mid-stride and looking purposeful in her almost-flares. Shot on a Canon EOS 6D & old EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L
These guys were standing outside a shoe-shop as I walked past. I don't know if they worked there or if they were there for the street market outside the shop, watching people coming and going. As I walked past the left guy swung around as something caught his attention down the street. Trying to remain inconspicuous I shot blind, from the hip with a Canon EOS 6D & EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L lens @ 28mm
A straight shot taken at the Tate Modern in London, in their new-ish Blavatnik building. Lovely modern concrete architecture and angles, with brickwork not fully butted up against each other leaving spaces that give a great chequerboard effect. Mixed in with some reflections and looking through a window at the building opposite. Canon EOS 6D & old Canon EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L
Last spring I was taking a morning train to London from my home town of Hastings for a days photography. A rare (annual!) treat to myself. I was looking out of the window of my train when I noticed the reflection of this guy on the next row of seats lit up by the morning sun streaming in through the window. He seemed to be lost in thought. Shot on a Canon EOS 6D & now-vintage Canon EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L. Apologies for the low resolution, I’m without a PC at the moment so uploaded this from my phone and inadvertently picked a low resolution copy. A tiny screen and bright surroundings meant I didn’t spot it at first… In Explore 13/02/2023.
Hello my Flickr friends. Good to be back. I've been distracted from photography and not posted for quite some time. It's good to be back :-)
This was taken in the Tate Modern in London. I love the hard bold lines of this building, stark and strong and industrial. Perfect for mono. Canon EOS 6D & EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L In Explore 27/08/2022
This was taken in the modern Blavatnik building which forms a part of the Tate Modern in London. I love the weird angles of the building and the industrial looking interior. The way the light was spilling in through the windows onto the stairs made this an obvious target to photograph but needed a focal point. A short wait was all it took. Canon EOS 6D & EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L
A shot on the pathway next to the river Thames in London. This is a straight shot not a double exposure, but is a reflection in the window of one of the buildings next to me. I liked the extra confusion and colours introduced to the scene by the detail coming through the glass. Canon EOS 6D & EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L
This was taken in London in April this year. I liked the way the light was falling on the pathway and illuminating the shadows by reflecting up from the ground, picking out the colours and brushed finish of the metal columns of the building behind. The couple looked happy to be out and about on what was a lovely spring day and one of the first warm days of the year. Canon EOS 6D & EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L

This was taken in an alleyway leading from the Thames at Blackfriars in London. I was attracted to the hard directional morning light giving strong angular shadows, and the pools of light reflected from the building were the icing on the cake for me. How could I resist? This is a shot of the different levels inside the Blavatnik building - a part of the Tate Modern in London. The outer wall of the building on the right isn’t attached to the floors allowing you to look up the height of the building inside. I was attracted by the angles of the wall and edges of the floors, the light spilling through the windows and also of the fluorescent tubes adding another angular element. Then right on cue someone leaned over the 2nd balcony and waved to someone below, helping to give a sense of scale to the scene. Canon EOS 6D & EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L
