One of two which appear to be of different years. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farmall_M#Description_and_production In my younger day I worked with these and they were real work horses. I cannot recall if they were model M’s I worked with but the ranch I worked on had at least one Farmall and possibly 2 over the years although much of their fleet were John Deer gas rigs. The brand can still be read faintly on the side of engine shroud as McCormick Farmall.
The three windows that wrap around the rear of the cab are what makes this truck special. I think this 5 window option was available on 1947-1955 Chevrolet and GMC light trucks. I attempted to capture the windows but I was unable to get far enough away to avoid the distortion. Sometimes I like my bad photos serendipity.
Lathrop Horse Rescue at AT Ranch has a lot of ranch equipment in storage. There are signs the ranch has had many lives and pieces of many projects now abandoned or put on the “back burner” as “rehoming” horses is now the priority of this ranch. Judging by the grille it looks like an early 1940’s vintage.
Taking the jog around Lathrop is a unit grain train bound for Foster Farms in Turlock on the ex-Tidewater Southern branch. The old searchlights still protect CP Hicks where the Fresno Subdivision crosses the Oakland Subdivision.
If you look real close you can see a startled dove flying just below the upper signal.
