UP 5200, Union Pacific's Chicagoland MOW unit, sits in North Avenue's yard, just off the Kennedy. Unfortunately, MOW (Maintenance of Way) equipment is all North Avenue has been good for since the days of the Chicago Terminal came to a close.

While watering the backyard this evening, I pulled out my favorite bokeh lens, the Cosina 55mm f/1.2. All one need do is set the aperture to 1.2 and point it anywhere and it creates a dreamy art piece. I don't know why I rarely take out this lens because it is so satisfying.

PC 80041 was built June or July 1946 as PRR 5949. It was renumbered to PC 8549, and circa mid 1968 rebuilt as a portable generator car, numbered 80041, for use on a ballast cleaning train.

PC 80057 on the rear of a freight train at an unknown location and date. Photographer not listed on the slide.
PC 80057 was built by the Southwark Foundry & Machine Co. 6/25 as NYC X-860, Lot 515.
According to some photos, PC classed some ex. NYC scale test cars as Y50, however I have found little to no documentation relating to that except for the photo evidence.

Every year, NAPM teams up with Habco to carry out chemical weed control along the railroad. In addition to keeping the ballast clear, vegetation management helps train engineers maintain a clear line-of-sight for signals and improves grade crossing visibility. The weed-spraying train includes a spray control car, two tanks of 2,4-D herbicide, and four water tanks used for dilution. The locomotive is at the rear and pushes the sprayer and tanks along the track.
Luke Lemmens has built an incredible 1980s-style model train. The sprayer car is a modified MDC boxcar with scratchbuilt sides and functional spray wings that extend and retract. Supporting it are tank cars from Proto 2000 and Athearn. It’s easily one of the most distinctive trains ever to roll down NAPM rails.

NJ Transit's Track Geometry Inspection Vehicle, otherwise known as the TGIV, runs down W Broad Street in Burlington City as it does a track inspection down the River LINE Light Rail line. The TGIV is frequently out and about on the heavy rail system doing its FRA-mandated inspections, but a run on light rail trackage is much rarer and only comes once in a blue moon.
BNSF westbound, one of 9 in a row with no eastbounds. M.o.W. going on, only one track in use. Eventually, 2 eastbounds show up. Followed by 2 westbounds, and I went home to Kingman. Some of the westbounds were running on a solid yellow, some on a flashing yellow. There was a cut of hoppers parked in the Williams Amtrak station, with, it looked like, major M. O. Way going on, on the normally eastbound track. Very few EMD’s, vast majority GE’s.
