A back section of Shelby Farms Park has numerous private garden areas where individuals grow anything from corn to tomatoes to squash and more. The Goldfinches were out in force eating sunflower seeds. This one seemed at ease on a sunflower plant, while I was only a few feet away.

A constant source of silly grins on my face, the male Rufus' always come to investigate what this large thing (me) is. I never get tired of getting buzzed by them.
Photographed in Dixie, WA at the home of Tom "The Hummingbird Man" Lamb. Tom was featured on 'Northwest Backroads' a few years back. It had been a goal of mine to meet him someday. Done!
