Not sure of the history behind this building located on the northeast corner of the courthouse square in Jasper, Tennessee. I am also not clear on the name of the building...I suspect it is either named after someone whose last name happened to be Lawyers or this was the building where all the lawyers in town set up shop somewhere between 1920 and 1954. Either way, I really like the style and architecture of teh building and thought it worthy of a photograph.
Image was taken during my trek to photograph all 95 county courthouses across my home state of Tennessee...now revisiting in order that the courthouses were photographed!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

This building at Cadillac Square was designed by the architects of nearby Cadillac Tower. This 1922 effort bt the firm of Bonnah and Chafee is called by the "AIA Guide to Detroit Architecture," one of the last extant Chicago commercial-style designs in Detroit. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Whether or not you agree or disagree with everything the Wayne County Commission has ever done, this is the Wayne County Building.

located on the west side of the square and burned in 1996. The Falcon and the Snowman was showing at the Campus. The Lawyers' Building is a combination of two, one of which was the old Greenlee Building. Was THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN the last film to play at the Campus (at least until the modern film festivals)? As I've mentioned elsewhere, one of my kinfolk built half of the Lawyers Building, which was a combination of two, old buildings. The left hand building was the old Greenlee Building; my great-grandmother was a Greenlee. The Lawyers Building and the two buildings next to it were destroyed by fire in 1996.
