The Lincoln Continental is a series of mid-sized and full-sized luxury cars produced between 1939 and 2020 by Lincoln, a division of the American automaker Ford Motor Company. The model line was introduced following the construction of a personal vehicle for Edsel Ford, who commissioned a coachbuilt 1939 Lincoln-Zephyr convertible, developed as a vacation vehicle to attract potential Lincoln buyers. In what would give the model line its name, the exterior was designed with European "continental" styling elements, including a rear-mounted spare tire.
The 1963 is a fourth-generation Lincoln Continental. It rode on a stretched version of the unibody platform produced for the 1961 Thunderbird, lengthened to a 123-inch wheelbase from market launch to 1963.

The only engine available was the 430 cu in (7.0 L) MEL V8 carried over from the Mark V. It was expanded to 462 cubic inches on 1966 models, becoming the largest-displacement engine ever used in a Ford Motor Company passenger car.

All versions of the Continental were fitted with a 3-speed automatic transmission. This car has a 4-speed automatic.
For the first time on a Lincoln since 1951, rear doors were rear-hinged (suicide doors). To alert drivers of open doors, Lincoln fitted the dashboard with a "Door Ajar" warning light as seen on many modern automobiles. For 1963, the Continental underwent several functional updates. The front seatbacks were modified in an effort to increase rear seat legroom. To increase luggage space, the trunklid was reshaped. In line with a number of vehicles in the United States, the electrical charging system introduced an alternator, replacing the generator.

On our way home one day, we noticed a small but wonderful little car show by the side of the road and stopped to check it out. There were an interesting variety of cars there from this classic to hot rods and some serious dragsters.

Don't even think of opening the doors while moving. You'd regret it if you did.

If I owned this beauty, I doubt I'd put some bullet hole decals on it even though it looks like it could have belonged to a gangster.

Every once in a long while, you get lucky. I had struggled to get a good shot of this cool panel truck at a different show where it was jammed in tight. Today, I caught him as he arrived at the show and he actually stopped when I signaled to him to do so - unlike so many others I've tried to stop - something I don't understand as you'd think they'd be proud enough of their vehicle that they would love to have people take pictures of it.

I couldn't ask for much more - it's yellow, the background is clean, the sky isn't bad etc.

Talbot-Lago T-150C-SS Teardrop Coupe (Explore 11/21/2023)

Figoni & Falaschi’s Teardrop is one of most iconic automobiles to come from the era of art deco inspired streamlining between 1930-1940. No wind tunnels with smoke and video, just passion and intuition. Photographed at the “Rolling Sculpture” exhibit held in Vero Beach Museum of Art early 2023. This car has won countless awards across the globe. A similar vehicle, with a less illustrious history, was recently bought at auction for over $12M. SS stands for Super Sport with more powerful engine than those without the designation. Re-edited ("Creatively") following improvement in software in past year.

Jerry Rice's 1934 Ford Street Rod

Taken at the Sycamore Township Car Show held at the Robert L.Schuler Sports Complex in the Sycamore Township suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio.

I was immediately attracted to this cool, well done coupe as it was one of the few "hot rods" at the show. I had a nice conversation with it's owner, Jerry, who told me that he and his son did most of the work on the car, something I always admire. I like the fact that it isn't all that glitzy or over done. The paint is an "egg plant" primer. If it had a really expensive flashy paint job, I'd be reluctant to drive it for fear of scratches or chips. I failed to ask why he placed the horn in such a vulnerable place, but it had to go somewhere. While I love the overall look of the car, if was mine, I'd have to consider a bumper of some sort simply for protection.
