Colas rail HST power cars 43272 / 43274 berth in the run round loop at Wick station on Friday 13th September 2024. They had arrived in the early hours of the morning, having worked the 21:24 (3Q41) Ultrasonic test train from Milburn yard, Inverness. The train will later work the 22:12 (3Q43) from Georgemas Junction back to Milburn.
158721 awaits departure at the far end of the platform with the 12:34 Wick to Inverness (2H62) service.
57310 heads the 3Q41 05:34 Shieldmuir Mail Terminal to Willesden Princess Royal Distribution Centre. The train consists of class 319 EMU's converted for parcels/light freight use by Orion logistics. A new initiative from Rail Operations Group, aiming to take traffic of the roads.
At the time of our visit to Carlisle the units were being locomotive hauled but I understand they are now operating under their own power.
