On 15 March 1964 resident Castle 4088 Dartmouth Castle is stabled around one of the two turntables at Bristol St Philips Marsh (82B). Working most of its long life at sheds in the Southwest, Plymouth Laira, Newton Abbott and Penzance, the loco moved to Worcester (85A) in 1958 and then on to Swindon (82C) in February 1961. After a year in store there, 4088 made its final move to St Philips Marsh in November 1962 and was withdrawn from there in May 1964. The loco was scrapped at Cohens Morriston.
