Looking down at the

shape of our creek in the valley.
It has steep banks rocks, roots, briars, prickly ash, and tough footing to contend with.

But it still is an amazing wild place.
You'd be hard pressed to find a perfectly manicured creek here. It is wild and does its own thing.

Behind the scenes

This is the only time I carry a tripod when making trips to the creek. It is too hard otherwise to climb in and out of the steep embankments!

This is where the camera was placed in the previous shot.

Now I know why...

These trees along the bank have such twisted and odd shaped roots.

They cling to rock and soil and hold on tight while sipping water from the creek.

Morning Rush Hour

The water rushes down in the first light of the day after an overnight rainfall that added to the snow melt.

The long exposure shows off places where the foamy water goes around rocks and other debris in the bottom.
