I was taking photos of a spider when I became aware of this anole watching me. Didn't even have to move to turn the camera slightly and take a portrait. Nice when your subject comes to you.

She had sewn the edges of the leaves together and hid inside there. Found her in a field of wildflowers about 3 feet off the ground. The leaves looked unnatural enough to catch my attention.

In the summer there are all kinds of critters to be found in the vegetation along creek banks. This wolf spider caught my eye as it traveled down the length of a long blade.

It's that time of the year where I have to remember not only to look up for birds, but also to look down for bugs. You never know what you might find. This protective mama was hidden between 2 leaves while carrying her precious egg sac.
